Watch Night Service is celebrated beginning at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The service includes sermonettes, worship, songs, dance, reflections, food and fun for the family.

Martin Luther King Day

Each year, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King with a soul-stirring program and ceremony. The program is enhanced by the gifts of church and community members.

Black History Month

Black History is celebrated each Sunday during the month of February. The youth council plans activities that include readings, plays and messages that highlight the impact African Americans have made in our society. One Sunday during the month is set aside to showcase ethnic wear as well.

Spring Revival

Our annual spring revival is held the week leading up to Easter. This series of worship services is provided to strengthen our walk with God. This time is used to focus vertically toward our Heavenly Father and horizontally toward our fellow man.

Prayer Breakfast

The Annual Prayer Breakfast takes place the Saturday morning preceding the week of Easter. The purpose is to fervently pray for the annual revival services and for relationships with Christ, Our Resurrected Savior.

Easter Sunday

Our annual spring revival is held the week leading up to Easter. This series of worship services is provided to strengthen our walk with God. This time is used to focus vertically toward our Heavenly Father and horizontally toward our fellow man.

Pastor’s Anniversary Celebration

Each year, the Mt Joy Church congregation celebrates and honors it’s Pastor and family on the 4th Sunday in April. This special time is shared by showering him with words of encouragement, gifts, monetary offerings and high praise offered to God for His blessings.

Missionary Society Annual Day

This annual day is another opportunity to celebrate the intentional outreach and service provided to the Greater Edwardsville Community as well as offer praise to our loving Father.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is held the week after the 3rd Sunday in July of each year. This Christian educational outreach and training program reaches church and community members. Activities are available for all ages and include classroom study, crafts, physical activities, games, presentations and dinner served daily.

Men’s & Women’s Day

Celebrations of these two events take place in September and are set aside to celebrate our walk with God in today’s world. Both groups host well-attended workshops, seminars and conferences on the designated weekends. The 3rd (Men) and 4th (Women) weekends are planned and facilitated by various leaders while members, friends and other community worshippers are invited to join the festivities.

Holy-ween

Holy-ween is celebrated on October 31 and offers an alternative to celebrating Halloween. Activities, food, fun, and a spiritual foundation for the evening are provided to those in attendance.

Harvest Homecoming

On the Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving, the Mt. Joy Family celebrates Harvest Homecoming. This event was started with the goal of inviting souls that had moved or strayed away to come back home. On Saturday, members and friends are treated to a festive “tasting” fellowship luncheon hosted in the lower fellowship hall of the church. On Sunday, two services are held with the single purpose of praising and worshipping God during this season on thanksgiving.

Christmas Services & Production

Mt. Joy members come together to celebrate Jesus’ birth. The youth are purposefully featured during this time for presentations of Christmas recitations and a Christmas production that teaches about our Saviour and His Birth. Budding thespians are afforded the opportunity to experience performances while honoring Jesus Christ at the holiday season.
